Retailer Offers Everyday Big Savings on Name Brand Apparel, Home Décor and More
When the new Gordmans in Valparaiso opens September 26, guests will discover an incredible selection of today’s latest brands, fashions and styles in apparel and home décor, big savings of up to 60% off department and specialty store prices and outstanding guest service. New merchandise arrives daily at Gordmans, delighting guests with something unexpected!
The 50,000-square-foot Gordmans will open at 9 a.m. Thursday at Porter’s Vale Shopping Center, 710 Porter’s Vale Boulevard (State Road 49 & State Road 2). The fast-growing, publicly traded Company plans to open two additional stores in September in new markets. Including these locations, the retailer will operate 93 stores in 54 markets and 19 states. The Valparaiso location marks Gordmans’ seventh store in Indiana.
“We are excited to extend the Gordmans experience to Valparaiso. Our mission is to delight guests with big savings, big selection and fun, friendly associates,” said Jeff Gordman, president and CEO. “We offer compelling value with our name brand merchandise for the entire family and invite Valparaiso citizens to visit the new store and enjoy our unique shopping environment that’s well-organized, infused with fun and entertainment, and features outstanding service.
At Gordmans, we want guests to feel welcome when they enter our store and know that we sincerely appreciate that they have chosen to shop with us.”
The new store’s Grand Opening festivities will take place October 4-6. Guests will enjoy a great selection of apparel, home décor and accessories as well as special promotions like drawings for gift cards worth $25, $50 and $100. They also will discover that Gordmans is an easy-to-shop store that features Gordmans Giggles children’s theater and Gordmans Grandstand, a sports-themed television viewing area.
Grand Opening activities begin Friday, October 4 with a 9 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony. CEO Jeff Gordman will present a check for $2,500 to Valparaiso Community Schools to launch the retailer’s Partners in Education fundraising events. Partners in Education is a program through which businesses make additional educational resources available to local public school systems. Gordmans’ guests may join in by purchasing “helping hands” for $1 each. Every dollar raised will directly benefit Valparaiso Community Schools. Since its involvement with Partners in Education, which began in 2000, Gordmans has contributed more than $1 million to public school systems in markets where Gordmans has stores. The new Gordmans store has selected Parkview Elementary School as its partner school.
“Through Partners in Education, we’re able to make a difference in the lives of many area schoolchildren,” said Gordman. “The collaboration is also a great volunteer opportunity for our associates, and it reinforces our commitment to giving back to the communities where our stores are located.”
Gordmans will open ten new stores in 2013. Seven of them opened earlier this year in Albuquerque, N.M.; Louisville, Ky.; Milwaukee; Minot, N.D.; Peoria, Ill.; and Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah. In September, in addition to the Valparaiso location, Gordmans will open a second store in Albuquerque and one in Green Bay, Wis. Including these locations, Gordmans will have expanded its store base by nearly 40% over a three-year period and will end this year with 93 stores in 19 states.
